Gbamenken Public School (GPS)
The renovation of Gbamenken Public School (GPS) in Karluway Statutory District, Maryland County, Liberia is almost finished. Construction began in March 2025 and will be completed ahead of the NAMCAL 2025 Convention in Mounds View, MN from September 26–28. Alexander Tubman Airport Terminal Buildings
We are pleased to announce to all NAMCAL members, Marylanders, and the general public that the renovation of the Alexander Tubman Airport terminal buildings has been successfully completed. This significant achievement, which began in January 2025, marks an important milestone in NAMCAL’s commitment to improving key infrastructure in our county. The completion of the terminal buildings will enhance travel experiences and contribute to local development as we look forward to the NAMCAL 2025 Convention.

Maryland County Association of Indiana (MCAIN)
The Maryland County Association of Indiana (MCAI), led by Ms. Annie Wehyee Gibson, has donated twenty-five (25) classroom desks to Harper Elementary Demonstration School (HEDS). According to Ms. Gibson, this delivery represents the first batch of sixty-five (65) desks that MCAI plans to provide to HEDS.
Thanks to the officers and members of MCAIN for this awesome gesture. This is a testament of your altruistic commitment to helping the people of Maryland County, Liberia.

James Jenkins (J.J.) Dossen Memorial Hospital
NAMCAL, in collaboration with the hospital administration, is undertaking the expansion of the Obstetric ward. Upon completion, this project will feature an operating room and provide capacity for more than 20 beds. Documentation of the ongoing construction progress will be shared shortly.
Water Wells / Hand Pumps
In its ongoing commitment to providing safe drinking water to the residents of Maryland County, Liberia, the National Maryland County Association of Liberia (NAMCAL), USA, under the leadership of Madam President Beatrice Dweh Rue, has completed the construction of eight additional water wells and hand pumps across the four districts of Maryland County. This recent development brings the total number of water wells and hand pumps constructed since 2021 to sixteen—four in each district.
The locations of the newly constructed wells are as follows:
• Harper District – Libsuco – Gbobleh
• Pleebo-Sodokeh – Zone 3 Community – Government Garage Community
• Karluway District – Gbouken Town – Dorobo Town
• Barrobo – Jaylorken Town – Chiliken Community
